Hey Walley, I wanted to send you this picture of my seven year old (Hunter Fillmore) with his first deer. Hunter shot this 4 pointer with a crossbow on October 4th this year, while hunting with his mom out of our buddy ladder stand in Adams county. Hunter watches all the hunting shows he can and when the buck came in it was walking so he made a noise that he has heard the guys on tv do to make it stop. Then he made the perfect shot,it dropped right in it's track and was short lived. I was hunting in a stand on the other side of the farm, By the time I got to them they were half way down to the truck, I could see the smile on his face from 100 yards away. I have never seen him so happy. While on our way out with the deer he asked if we could get up early the next morning and go again. Hunter has to rest the crossbow on the rail of the ladder stand because he isn't strong enough yet to hold the crossbow up. When he practices he has to rest it on a chair or table on our deck. The other day while we were listening to the Rebel Hunter heard you say deer camp and it caught his attention, He heard you say send a picture in and maybe he could win a new crossbow. He asked " Dad, could we do that so If I won I won't have to use mom's and that way she could hunt at the same time I do " ? I told him I would send this in for him. Thanks for having the contest and keep up the great music and great radio station.

I Shot this big buck off my neighbor’s lawn. It was just standing there all lit up. I hung it next to our other deer to make it feel like one of them. Note from Walley: This kinda wacky crazy stuff scares me knowing you kill things. Blood red lights...you guys are nutz, I want to party with you :)

It was some long weeks in the treestand and I didn't think I'd even get a deer let alone this nice 8 pt. buck! My husband was pretty proud of me. (we met shooting competition 3-D archery) I put a 23 yd. lung/heart shot on the buck with my bow, he didn't go far at all before he laid down. I was pretty excited. Its not my first bow harvest, but its my best. I got a real nice grooming mount made with him turned back, licking his shoulder. Looks awesome in the livingroom. (he can't have all the bragging rights on the wall, right?) Hey, thanks for the great music and fun on the radio! I enjoy my ride into work listening to you guys. Long time hunter - first time contest entry.

I harvested this buck on my first hunt of 2006. On the evening of October 4, 2006 I watched this buck feed and spar with another 8 pointer for about 2 hours. Finally at 7:05 p.m. the two bucks exited the field. The 8 point walked past my stand at 25 yards but I could not get him to stop for a good shot. This 9 point was close behind. I got him to stop broadside at 25 yards. I shot and he dropped on the spot.

Ok Wally, here's the story on this pic...this is my mom Sharon Hogan, she is the latest member of the family to get her first deer. She's had her own tree stand for quite a few years and would get up every morning with the guys and head out to the woods armed with her camera and a book...yes I said it a CAMERA!! Now over the years she's seen and taken pics of all the kills that my grandpa, my uncles, and my sister have brought through the hunting camp. Out of the blue one day she decided she wanted to take her gun instead of her camera and low and behold she shot her very first deer, a nice looking doe, oh by the way...did I mention that she is 60 yrs. old ! She has officially been diagnosed with severe deer fever...she just can't get enough!! My grandfather, who is in his mid 80's and still manages to climb up into his stand every chance he gets is so proud that he is able to share his LOVE of hunting with her.
